For many families, Christmas giving turns into Christmas debt. There’s a better way! Some of the best gifts can be had for less than $10. Here’s our list of 10 Christmas GIfts for Under $10!
I love giving and getting magazines because the enjoyment of the gift is extended over a whole year. Each time I receive my new Reader’s Digest in the mail, I am reminded of my dear friend who gave me the subscription. DiscountMags has a whole slew of under $10 magazine subscriptions including Elle, Marie Claire, Field and Stream, CNet, PC Magazine, and hundreds more. If you catch a sale, prices are under $5 for a full year subscription! This year on Black Friday, Bon Appetit was $3.88, Better Homes and Gardens was $4.50, and Real Simple was $4.99. Amazon often has $5 subscriptions, too. Use Ebates for added savings.[space_20]
Trader Joe’s knows this to be true! TJ’s carry a whole host of chocolate bars with flavors like Birthday Cake, 89% Cacao, Caramel, and Speculoos. Many are priced at $1.49 to $1.79 (some are $1) so you can give several and still stay under your $10 limit. Wrap up the bars, tie ‘em with a bow, and make a chocolate lover’s heart happy.[space_20]
Did you know that at Target you can buy Uno, Jenga, Rummikub, Candyland, Yahtzee (a personal favorite from the 80s!), and Trouble for under $10?! Catch a sale and you may be able to get two for $10. Use your Target REDcard for an extra 5% off. Score![space_20]
At Target and Amazon, buy Burt’s Bees Essential Everyday Beauty Gift Set for $9.89. The five-piece set includes a variety of lotions and lip balm.[space_20]
Ikea sells a variety of soft and colorful throws with prices as low as $4.99! Go to the local dollar store and find an inexpensive book to add to the gift. Dollar Tree sells four-packs of crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and word search books for…well…$1 of course. Some even come in large-print. Bundle the blanket and the book and you’ve given your loved one permission to have some down-time.[space_20]
Head to Barnes and Nobles’ clearance section and find kids’ books in the $3-$5 range. There are board books for babies, brain teasers for school-age kids, and picture books aplenty! Wrap a few books together and give a gift that will foster a life-long love of reading.[space_20]
When my kids were toddlers, I started sewing pajama pants for them as a Christmas gift. A dozen years later, the tradition continues. Jo-Ann’s has coupons this time of year to snag yarn, fabric, and sewing notions. I also make small travel bags as gifts and each costs me less than $4 a piece. Handmade gifts are treasured long after the holidays are over.[space_20]
Sweets are a favorite this time of year. Last year, I made super easy bark candy (recipe HERE), bought some small pop-up boxes from Dollar Tree, and gave one to each of my co-workers. Simple and yummy! Ingredients and boxes cost less than $10 TOTAL! The recipe makes enough for several gifts. [space_20]
Layer the dry ingredients of a cookie recipe (HERE), put them in a nice new Mason jar, attach the recipe, and you’re done! Target sells a dozen jars for $9.99 (right now they’re on sale for $6.99!) The ingredients will cost you less than a dollar per jar. All you need is flour, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips, brown and granulated sugar. You can buy pre-packaged cookie mix jars but some of them taste terrible! Make your own at a lower cost and higher quality.[space_20]
Look for ways to bless your loved one by doing something meaningful for them. Plants flowers in the garden, touch-up some paint, offer to babysit. Use Canva to design a card to present with your present. Giving of yourself this way may be one of the most meaningful things you give this year.[space_20]
